Barnard Gallery, in association with Lizamore & Associates, will be hosting Albus by Justin Dingwall from August 23 - September 20, 2016.
Dingwall's project began with portraits of Thando Hopa, a legal prosecutor using her visibility to address the negative perceptions surrounding albinism. More recent work features Sanele Xaba, a young model with albinism, and uses specific elements to create symbolic meanings.
This critically acclaimed body of work has been shown at the Joburg Art Fair (2015), North West University (2016) and Lizamore & Associates Gallery (2016) and has been featured on CNN and BBC amongst others.
