Justin Dingwall's critically acclaimed exhibition, Albus, will be on exhibition at Artco Gallery in Germany over the holidays.
Artco Gallery also recently published a book on the compelling body of works with essays by Prof. Klaus Honnef, Rodger Ballen, Lebogang Mashile, Robyn Sassen, Pierre Lombart and Johan Mybrug.
25: An Auction of Contemporary Art by Bag Factory
The Bag Factory in partnership the ABSA Gallery and Strauss & Co will be hosting “25 - An Auction of Contemporary Art” on Thursday 17 November at the ABSA Gallery from 6:30pm. Work by Benon Lutaaya, Louis Olivier, Peter Mammes, Justin Dingwall and Zolile Phetshane and many more will on auction.
The work will be available to preview at the Gallery from Thursday 10 November. The auction contains contemporary work that has either never been seen or created especially for this auction by some of SA’s most well known artists including Benon Lutaaya, Deborah Bell, Sam Nhlengethwa ,Nelson Makamo and many others. Estimates range from R3000 to R200000 so there is something for everyone! We would like to invite you and your partner to join us for this exciting Auction.

Teresa Lizamore curates the Valley Flair Art Auction by MAD Leadership Foundation
We are honoured to be partnering with Make A Difference Leadership Foundation for the Valley Flair Art Auction in November. Our very own Teresa Lizamore will be curating this charity auction. All proceeds go to charity.
Amongst the many wonderful artists, works by Hannelie Coetzee, Bev Butkow and Zolile Phetshane will be on auction.
Make A Difference Leadership Foundation (MAD Leadership Foundation) was formed in 2003 by Francois Pienaar. With a focus on leadership development through education, their approach is to identify academically talented scholars with leadership potential, who do not have the necessary financial resources, and offer them support in the areas of education, leadership, wellness and life-skills development. MAD Leadership Foundation holistically invests in their scholars’ academic, wellness, life-skills, mentorship and leadership journeys, ensuring that through the 9+ years on the programme they are given every opportunity to reach their full potential as South Africa’s future leaders.
MAD Leadership Foundation presents the inaugural Valley Flair Art Auction, in partnership with Val de Vie Estate and Lizamore & Associates Gallery. This is a must-attend event for art enthusiasts, with a drive to Make A Difference. Out and about with Hannelie Coetzee
Over the last couple of months, Hannelie Coetzee has been recognised for her achievements and contributions towards interlinking her fine art with other industries.
In September, Coetzee and Kirchhoff Professional Surveyors was awarded the Small Business Award at the annual Business and Art Awards for the Eland and Benko (#firegrazer) project. Read more here.

Coetzee was also a finalist for this years PPC Imaginarium Awards in the Industrial design category for her Wildwall tile. Read more here. She has recently received an additional PPC prototype development grant for this design. Interested parties can contact Coetzee to discuss potential site specific installation.
For the the launch for the new The Test Kitchen, at the Biscuit Mill Cape Town Coetzee was commissioned to create a work in this exclusive restaurant. For this, Coetzee created Sibling Portrait by engraving figures into burnt wood.

SA Taxi Foundation wins First Time Sponsor BASA award

Lizamore at the FNB Joburg Art Fair
For the 2016 FNB JHB Art Fair Lizamore & Associates will host a two-man, curated, exhibition by Zolile Phetshane and Tshepo Mosopa as well as a gallery solo project by Mandy Coppes-Martin.
Both Mosopa and Phetshane’s work centers around a self-exploration and understanding of each artist’s personal environments, the labels and stereotypes prescribed by society. Systems like religion, the economy, politics, rituals and objects with which everyday lives are filled become the constructs through which they organize their ‘world’.
Phetshane, who has exhibited extensively both locally and internationally, creates abstract colour fields which are littered with these objects and numbers as tools which make sense of his private world. Through painting, drawing and scratching Phetshane creates order and processes these subconscious thoughts and feelings into each work. By so doing, his objects and numbers mediates the viewer from their reality to Phetshane’s interpretation of his surroundings.
Mosopa, the first winner of both the Reinhold Cassirer Art Award (2011) and the SA Taxi Foundation Art Award (2015), investigates self-identity and social hierarchy within his works. He uses the human form and its placement in space which is informed by politics, economy and culture, and how they reshape ones identity in an ever changing and growing world. His drawings break down the figurative into gestural lines, about to become something more; a figure in movement/action. It is through these diverse approaches to self-identification that the artist decides to paint and draw, creating a visual language personal to each artist.
